Exhibition Tube 2010 in Düsseldorf successfully concluded:
data M Sheet Metal Solutions GmbH would like to thank all visitors for the friendly conversations we had at the Tube 2010 in Düsseldorf.
Simulation with COPRA® FEA RF:
At the Tube we presented the new function “Remesh” in COPRA® FEA RF - the Finite Element Simulation of the Roll Forming Process. Beside the possibility to “automatically mesh pre-punched material”, this new function was added to COPRA® FEA RF. The “remesh-functionality” has been listed on the data M Sheet Metal Solutions' wish list of development for a long time now. A technical solution has been realised by now in which the Mesh can be redefined as needed during the simulation.
We hope to see you again at the next Tube exhibition, which will be held in two year’s time.   ...Info Flyer (PDF 460 KB)

Exhibition EuroBlech 2008 in Hannover successfully concluded:
data M Software GmbH would like to thank all visitors for the friendly conversations we had at the EuroBlech 2008 in Hannover.
Successful and cost-attractive manufacture of roll formed parts not only calls for an efficient tool set – the design, production and maintenance of roll tools are also of decisive importance. The data M Software booth at the EuroBlech 2008 show was consequently focusing on "Time- and Cost-Effective Management in developing Roll Tools".
We are happy to say that the new version of COPRA® RF – our software for the roll forming process – has met your special interest. We hope to see you again at the next EuroBlech exhibition, which will be held in two year’s time.   ...Info Flyer (PDF, 2 MB)

Innovative data M software solution helps create new product range:
In its new manufacturing process for free-form standing seam profiles called Kalzip XT, Corus Bausysteme GmbH based in Koblenz developed an entirely new roll forming technology that enables it to fabricate profiles of virtually any geometry. The complex and innovative roll forming concept is controlled and supported by software from data M.        ...more info (PDF 805 KB)   or   ...contact data M

In-house exhibition with Seminar on mount Wendelstein successfully concluded!
In-house exhibition 2009 planned:

Roll Forming on Top - Future Trends of Roll Forming, Design, Optimization, Verification.
These has been subjects of our this year's In-house exhibition - not only discussed and cross-referenced at data M's premises. One big highlight was also the COPRA® RollForm Seminar on top of the mount Wendelstein (picture). Also the numerous participation made this event to such a successful one. data M would like to say thank you very much to every participant at the COPRA® RollForm seminar and user meeting 2007. It was your partaking that made this event such a successful one.
We are already planning the next seminar in May 2009. We are looking forward to seeing you then and hope that together with you it will just as interesting.

data M joins European Research project for Flexible Roll Forming:
The main objective of the proposal of the PROFORM project is to develop a new engineering and manufacturing concept based on a built-to-order system for reducing lead time and costs in producing high technology transport components for chassis and vehicle bodies.
Roll forming is a high productive technique that is well-established in industry for the manufacturing of large quantities of profile-shaped products. The prevailing technique involves the use of steel materials of changing qualities and thicknesses fed into the machine from a continuous coil. The roll forming line generally includes an accumulator with an uncoiler, the forming machine with in general 20-50 forming stands, and a cutoff press. The accumulator permits continuous operation of the machine even during coil changeover. At the end of the line, the continuous profile section is cut to length by the cutoff press.
So far, the basic limitation of the roll forming process is mainly due to the fact that traditional roll forming machines have fixed rollers which limit the formed products to straight sections and constant cross sections geometry along the longitudinal axis. As a result of this project a production line for “variable cross sections” over the longitudinal direction will be realised in order to prove the industrial application of this new forming technology.

data M at the newly opened TUBE Arabia 2007:
The Tube Arabia exhibition in Dubai that opened in January proved to be an encouragingly successful event for the ITA and its exhibitor group. data M Software GmbH and its Indian daughter data M Software India Pvt. Ltd. presented COPRA®-products at a common both to the Arabian world.
Our products like COPRA® Roll Forming for Tubes led to a high interest on the Arabian market and also to a excellent balance: „All in all we are very happy with the result!“, said Albert Sedlmaier, managing director of data M and Chairman of the International Tube Association (ITA).

The exhibition was formally opened by His Highness Sheik Hasher bin Juma Al Maktoum, Director of the Department of Information for Dubai, and a member of the reigning family. The ITA booth was honoured with a visit by the Sheik where he met ITA Chairman Albert Sedlmaier and Executive Secretary Phillip Knight.

User report: COPRA® RF:
With a workforce of some 3,000 and annual turnover of nearly 750 million, the Profilform division of Austria's voestalpine combine, based in Krems, is one of the world's leading producers of tubes and profiles. To meet constantly increasing demands in terms of both the complexity of profile structures and reduction of turn-around times within a framework of shorter innovation cycles, the company opted for COPRA®, the CAD/CAM system from data M Software. This solution enabled it to achieve substantial process optimization and markedly faster turn-around.                                                                                             ...for more info, go to page 2 of our Info-Forum "Turn-around cut in half" (PDF)

Fundamentals of Tube Mill Operation:
data M Software supports training course from TPA, Tube and Pipe Association International. This course is a guided tour of the welded tube making process, from coil receiving through exit. Participants will become familiar with the processes necessary for making tube and how those processes work. This fundamental course is ideal for those who don't have a strong background in tube production but are comfortable with a computer and with basic math and science.
COPRA Software was used in the development of this course, with the compliments of
data M Software.   ...more info

COPRA® FEA RF now also allows the analysis of the welding process:
COPRA® FEA RF now with an integrated simulation of the welding process as well - in addition to the analysis of the forming process before and after the welding unit.
COPRA® FEA RF actually allows for both - the verification of roll tool design as well as the analysis of tube making and roll forming processes.   ...contact data M

Total Quality Management in the Design and Analysis of Roll Forming Tools:
...by using both - an optical Roll Inspection System and Finite Element Analysis software. A new software module allows the simulation and analysis of the roll forming process: “COPRA® FEA RF” software is based on an optimised MSC.MARC solver and the result of almost 10 years research and development at data M in the field of roll form analysis calculation.                                     ...more info   or   ...contact data M
